The main areas you'll be working with are the Project Panel, Timeline, and Composition Window. Think of these as your new best friends!

Think of your composition as your canvas. It starts blank and you gradually fill it with the different layers of your animation. You set your parameters like resolution and frame rate. Now, you've got your blank canvas ready to go!

🧅 Working with Layers
Layers are the building blocks of your animation. You can add text, images, shapes—basically anything you want to animate. The more you add, the more dynamic it gets! You’ll also learn how not to get in a pickle when there is lots going on on those layers.

Keyframes are the magic beans of animation. 🌱 ♦️ They hold all the important information that tell the things on your canvas what to do, and when.. and how fast! Place them at the beginning and end of a movement, and After Effects will do the heavy lifting in between. It's like setting up dominoes and watching them fall—super satisfying!

The timeline is your storyboard. Here, you can see all your layers and keyframes laid out. It's like a roadmap for your animation journey. Just drag and drop your keyframes to adjust timing and create smooth transitions.

Anyone who wants to take their fist steps in animated explainer video production. You may have used some of the more ‘off the shelf’ softwares but want to up your game - this course starts at te very beginning and will get you going in no time.

It will help if you have already used Adobe Software before. A good basic understanding of how layers work will help.

You will need an Adobe subscription. Adobe do offer a free thirty day trial for their full suite of Creative Cloud software and they also offer monthly subscriptions so you will have plenty of time to try before you buy, an then you have the option to cancel at any time.
I use Procreate on my iPad for illustrations, but you can use any drawing software if you plan to use your own illustrations in your animations.
