In the talk Amie makes the case for not just art, but creativity as a whole, and how, in the current chaos and turmoil that we are living through, creativity may just be the thing that saves us. I was super inspired by the talk and immediately wanted to spread the message far and wide.

I know many people feel that taking time to be creative is an indulgence, but it isn’t, as Aimee argues in her talk. So I decided a nice idea would be to create a space for anyone who wanted to make a start.

The idea is still in Beta, but we will be meeting on Zoom every now and again. I’ll bring some images to inspire us, or maybe you’ll bring your own… it’s all good. These sessions can be your permission slip to get creative again.

Sometimes it you need a little push in the right direction… maybe you haven’t picked up a pencil since your schooldays… but you always loved art classes. This isn’t about creating masterpieces, it’s about enjoying the simple act of creating something - just for you.
